The solder/shrink-tube approach is hard to beat; but is a little
labor-intensive, as you well know.
A couple of other approaches i like are to use multi-pin connectors for
'groups' like tail-lights and audio and speaker-wires, and 'bullet'
connectors for single-wire things like fuel-tank sender, electric
trailer-brake wire, and things like that - having them more
easily-accessible than accessing the fuse-block for checking or replacing
individual components later on saves loads of time down the road... i like
to do the same thing on the toad, too...
