Andrea, there's a switch as part of the fridge temperature and lighting
controls that has to be in a particular position to use gas to cool the
fridge. If that switch is in the gas position, it cuts off the electricity
to the fridge. Check to see which position it's in. It should be marked.

I'm a vintage Airstream type and assuming the newer coaches have the same
feature.
