We used to show dogs, and, although we now have Boston Terriers, have
carried Boxers, Irish Setters, Shar Pei's and such large breeds to shows.

The secret it to train them to stay in crates, and to be sure to keep the
unit cool, either with a generator or shore power running the A/C.

I have built an alarm system that senses when the temperature rises, or the
power goes off, and lets you know that it's time to get back and take care
of the dogs. Without something like this, you need to check on them
frequently, as they can get hot very fast.

You really shouldn't leave them for more than a couple of hours anyway,
though on occasion we have.
