Re: [A/S] Any idea's

Dan -- Way to go! Here's my belated welcome to WBCCI. Now you know where the rallies and caravans
are throughout the continent. When we're traveling, we often phone a Rally Wagonmaster to sign up
for his rally. Even though we seldom know him when we show up, we always have a good time. Two
months ago, we read about a Colorado River Caravan in our Blue Beret magazine and signed up for it.
We had a grand time and now have 27 new friends who are also Airstreamers.

You have undoubtedly seen the WBCCI Membership Directory with all the Airstream families listed who
offer courtesy parking at their home. Their phone number is beside their name. Several times a year,
we call one of them and ask if the invitation is still good. We have ALWAYS been received with an
enthusiastic reception and have had enjoyable experiences with each family. More than half told us
we were the first ones to take them up on their offer. In Lebanon, PA, the wife baked Shoefly pie
and gave it to us when we left. We have many delightfully memorable experiences as a result of
courtesy parking.

On a different topic: Last month, we had peeling clearcoat cleaned off both end caps on our '77 31'.
It was 15 years since the last time it was stripped, repolished and recoated. This time, when the
end caps were repolished and recoated, I immediately bought new numbers and membership decals.

BUT - the end caps look so good and blend in so well with the rest of our polished Airstream, I'm
hesitating to put them on. I might put them on two pieces of aluminum and set them out when we stop
at campgrounds. Or, maybe I won't. Is this how ambivalence is defined?

Right now we're traveling east from Colorado. If you have cable tv, tune in the weather channel and
maybe you'll see us. We're holed up in the central plains area where there's a severe weather watch
with strong thunderstorms, intense lightning, destructive winds (74 mph+) with tremndous shear
capability, violent tornados, torrential rain and golf ball size hail. Gads, one of those is enough.

We'll be eating in tonight,

Terry
