 That's the most-common way for A/S to construct the 'A' frame on the
older trailers. I think current production uses rectangular tubing.

If you can, you might want to check it for rust, the 'A' frame on my '68
G.T. was badly rusted on the Curb side, due to water following the cable
down through the grommet. I replaced it, starting about 4" in front of
the body.
