We use a hot air gun (hair dryer) to remove the red plastic. We use a citrus based cleaner (Citrsolve, Big Orange) to remove the adhesive. Unfortunately you will likely still have a ghost of the old numbers due to sun aging of the surrounding metal. Don't know of a fix for that. Charlie
