Hi all, 
Along the same thread as Hunter, let's not forget the
"younger" folks with kids. Many of the older folks
(outside the VAC group) at International this past
year were not too welcoming of a 40 year old female
with her 15 year old son (my husband had just changed
jobs and was unable to attend). On the locator lists
we were listed with my husband's name first then mine.
Everyday I put in a request to have it changed. The
next change was my son's name first, then mine. 
I am truly afraid we have an organization with leaders
that are unwilling to recognize that women are able to
function without a man at her side. Please note that
the "First Lady" is rarely mentioned in the President
of the Blue Beret's message. 
Sorry if I have offended anyone but I was raised by a
father who saw the women's lib movement coming. I was
taught that if you were going to drive a car or ride a
motorcycle that you had to be able to repair it or at
least figure out what was wrong to get it repaired.
