 Okay Daisy here you go...........Living in Oregon, I am prejudiced. 
But if I were planning a trip…. I would head north from San Francisco 
on 101 and stop in Medencino County. Wines and great food, little 
villages and fishing towns. I can't pass supper at the Wharf in Ft 
Bragg. 

Then up to the giant redwoods, great camping and RV parks. I'd have 
to pull the A/S through the Drive-thru Redwood Tree, and take the old 
hwy where you can camp among the giants. 

Then up to Crescent City, a sleepy town that almost got destroyed in 
a tital wave in the 60's. There I'd head east on 199 towards Grants 
Pass Oregon.  2 hours from Crescent City you'll find Cave Junction, 
the gateway to the national monument the Oregon Caves.  A 30's style 
Inn at the caves and a terrific easy walking tour underground. If 
caves are not your thing, there are 3 nearby vineyards, one of the 
best is Bridgeview.  

Head back east on 199 to Grants Pass an a ride on Hellgate 
Executions, a jetboat ride on the wild and scenic Rouge River.  
Overnight at the Valley of the Rouge State Park on the river.

Then south on I-5 towards Medford.  Turning off at Gold Hill to the 
scenic route 234 , to highway 62 an on to one of America's treasures, 
Crater Lake. Great camping and an A/S blue lake in an extinct 
volcano, and a restored resort reminiscent of Teddy Roosevelt.  

Then take off to hwy138 passing Diamond Lake , heading to Roseburg.  
Overnight at the RV park at Seven Feathers Casino's RV park. Win 
enough to pay for the trip. In the morning leave real early and head 
to Winston and Wildlife Safari. Unhook and drive among the cheetahs, 
lions, and African wildlife. 

Then head back to the coast via 38 to Coosbay,  great antique and 
collectable area. Heading up 101 again, you won't find better coastal 
viewing our interesting villages. Camp on the seaside or in the 
woods. Private and State parks galore. Don't miss Depot Bay, Old town 
Newport, the air museum at Tillamook located in a big blimp hanger. 
Spend a day in Seaside it refreshes the soul, as the beach walks 
stretch forever, and dinner or a beverage is never far away.

Cross the Columbia River into Washington and head to Gig Harbor… but 
that's another state and another story.
