Hunter, In '98 I was south of Lake City probably at least 125 miles 
away from Canaveral when I made a u-turn on a country road and
noticed the shuttle streaking upward. It was broad daylight so it was 
nowhere nearly as spectacular as what you saw, but I don't think
there is a bad seat in the house no matter where you are within many 
miles of a launch. It is an amazing thing to see.
