Re: [A/S] Feedback to a new list subscriber

Gary,

I have a friend who towed a new Safari 25' with an F150 equipped with 5.4
liter engine and standard differential gear and was well pleased with the
performance on the highway, and through the Blue Ridge Parkway. He claimed
11 mpg on a trip we took towing our respective trailers.

The advantage of the 5.4 liter Ford is that it develops its maximum torque
across a wide rpm band beginning at around 2100 rpm which is approximately
65 mph in overdrive.

Since you mentioned '80 and up 25' trailers, you are probably speaking of an
Excella. 25' Excellas are heavier than the new Safari 25's but are nicely
equipped.
