Just a thought about the missing toilet.  It is becoming obvious to me that
black water holding tank failure is common among vintage A/S.  Please
consider that the missing toilet might be a symptom.

It's very difficult to check the tank as, in my opinion, it would have to be
removed to check it throughly.  If it's broken, the tank housing will
prevent seeing leakage.  Taking the tank out is a BIG job and involves risks
you might not want to take.  However, with all this said, the black water
tank might have been pressed into service as a gray water tank.

Something to think about before you run out and get a new toilet! :)

I learned about holding tanks from Harvey Barlow and I'm still learning from
him.
