Hi all:

That's how I do it with my single axle Safari, even though the manual 
says to "Place a jack under the main frame rail of the trailer as close 
as possible to the wheel location and jack up at that point".  The 
closest point is the axle mounting plate, which has worked very well for 
me.

It also makes sense to place the jack on the aft end of the plate to make 
sure the center of gravity is kept forward of the jack as much as 
possible.

The original question though, it seems to me, was about a '61 Bambi. (I 
think... unfortunately I trashed the e-mail already)  It may not have a 
Dura-Torque axle but instead springs, in which case I doubt if there is 
an "axle mounting plate" to use.  Bambi experts?
