[A/S] side or rear bath in 27'

Hello,

We are new to the A/S life, and are looking for our first vintage 
[70's] A/S. We just saw our first A/S last night and a question for 
you guys.  Which is best, a rear or side bath?

The nice man showing us his Overlander [74] says the rear bath models 
have too much weight and that can lead to floor problems.  I thought 
the side bath was too small. Anyway to make the baths bigger and 
still keep the vintage look?

Also, thanks so much for the SUV advice, we are now looking for a 4-
wheel drive, 3/4 ton long bed truck as our tow vehicle.  I am really 
enjoying all of the great info on this list as we know very little 
about A/S, but we know we want one!  We plan to do a lot of travel in 
Canada and also at least one big CA trip including Baja [in the 
winter of course]  Are the airconditioners really GOOD in A/S, I'm 
sensitive to the heat.
