I always open the back window. It helps me center.  Then I just back up 
centered... when I'm about 2-3 feet from the hitch I get out and walk back 
and see how my aim looks... I get in and correct and keep backing... out one 
more time.... often that last time I'm actually already locked in. 

Practice, practice, practice.......
