Been there, done that. I had to remove the refer from my 78 X. It 
appears that they stated adding the interior at the rear and worked 
forward. The refer was set into a half completed cabinet, fastened 
down and then another wall was added. In the case of mine I had to 
remove the entertainment cabinet and a wall to get at the refer. 
Little consideration was given to having to make repairs some where
