Re: [A/S] AS entry door
Jim - My 64 Tradewind has a keyless dead bolt and a regular lock
set. Makes it real convenient. It really is amazing who many variations
of each kind you will find on Airstreams.
My frig was dead when I purchased the trailer and I replaced it with an all
electric unit. To remove the frig you need to get to the four bolts in the
bottom of the frig that are bolted through the floor. You have to remove
the surrounding cabinet.
Start by removing the cabinet side with the book case. It's riveted or
screwed into the top and sides. Make sure you disconnect and plug the gas
line under the front of the frig.
Once that is off, you will find that it is riveted to the side wall. Drill
those out of the frig. It took me forever to find the anchors in the right
front. Open the closet door, and feel the molding from floor to the height
of the frig. You should find some holes. These are deep and contain slot
head screws that are screwed through the wall into the frig wall.
There should be four bolts through the frig frame into the floor. There is
a vent screen in the floor that you can remove. It's stapled in. You'll
need to do that to get a wrench on the bolt heads. Barring that you could
drop the belly pan under the frig or cut the nut off the bolts. This
should do it.
Good luck
