[A/S] Re: Streamline and aluminum Avion Trailers

A couple weeks ago on our annual trip to the Texas Hill Country while
at the Lady Bird Johnson municipal campground in Fredericksburg we
spent some time with a couple who had a 30 foot 1985 Avion Travelcader
they had owned 10 years, and it was beautiful. It had a large rear
bath, twins, big windows, and plenty of kitchen storage (Stephanie, my
wife, liked that part). The interior cabinetry is not as nice as the
later Airstreams, but I was impressed, and even thought that if I were
going to spend more time on the road and wanted to go bigger that a
used Avion might not be a bad idea. The last model year for the
aluminum TTs was 1990. That 30 foot unit had a GVWR of about 8500,
and I have since seen a 34 foot Avion with a 9700 GVWR. That is no
problem for you diesel guys of course, but I would definately need a
bigger rig.
