When I repaired mine I had a tool to remove the threaded collar but 
it was corroaded to the point of not turning. The collar is made of 
cast iron and is easy to cut. I used a die grinder and hacksaw blade 
to cut the old collar into 4 90 deg. segments (pie shape). I then had 
to cut about 10 deg. off of one segment which I managed to remove. 
That allowed enough room to remove the other segments. The threaded 
coller is available at an RV dealer for about $6.
