Now my question:

What is a friction bar?

I'm picturing the big hitch, two arms that have to be hoisted by their chains 
to the frame on each side of the frame and a small "no-sway" arm thingy 
(about a foot long) that is set on one side... but should be removed in 
serious wind conditions (?) 

Which of those things is the "friction bar"?
