From Dwight Dixon  4122  1963 Overlander 26ft.

My unit has the same hinge and counter support in the
upright posistion, but no indication there ever was a
support on the side of the cabinet.  As a result, the
hinge , which also slides, shows considerable stress. 
A support, that is hinged and swings out from the
cabinet, would be a good idea.
