Owners manuals back then did not contain the information that you want. 
Service manuals did not exist until the early 70's. The only one that can 
help you is someone that is knowledgeable on the older coaches. If you wish 
to e-mail us direct, we will be happy to assist you, on a time available 
basis, on a specific problem. Teaching someone "how to on the net, or 
telephone", would be extremely time consuming. Sometimes its worthy to travel 
to a good dealer, so that you can find the answers to some of your questions. 
It probably would be better if you got a safety inspection on your Airstream, 
which if done properly, will give you many answers, also.
