RE: [A/S] hitches...FREAKED

Sarah -

What size (and age) is your trailer? What might be necessary for safety with
a new, heavy, 30+ foot trailer may not be necessary with a really small
vintage unit. I still tow with just a ball, but I have a '63 Bambi that
hardly weighs anything and I tow with a long wheelbase van (which is heavier
than the trailer). I have never had a problem with fishtailing, and have
towed the trailer a lot (including a single trip of over 15,000 miles).

Don't get intimidated by all the technical stuff. The most important things
for safety when towing are knowing your own rig (and its limitations); never
driving when you're tired; making sure that your brakes, tires, and lights
are good; and assuming that all those other folks on the road don't know how
to drive.

Happy Trails - Sherry
