Can it be done, yes? Is it easy, no? A&E makes an adapter kit that allows
the installation of the current 8500/9000 torsion assemblies. There are no
parts available from A&E for the 5000. The awning has torsion springs at
both ends of the awning. If one breaks there is not enough oomph in the
other to do the job. It does require the awning to be fully extended.
