Mice are a problem. I think that running the power cord to the trailer
while parked gives mice a highway into the trailer. As I need to take
care of aluminum wire, I'm also thinking of replacing the cord through
the Thetford fitting with a plate with a plug mounted in the plate over
that Thetford fitting. Then I'll have to use a straight receptacle on
the cord instead of having it wired in. Likely I'll have to go to a
twist lock type of receptacle and plug to find them easily. That way
when the mouse runs up the cord it will find the steel plate mounting
the plug, not a runway into the entire A/S interior. I know mice have
contributed to the demise of my SOB sitting next to the barn at the
farm. Running up the power cord is probably their first entry.

In a country house, I've found that foaming ALL the possible openings
has stopped mice from getting into the house for several years. That can
be applied to A/S also.

Mice will chew wiring when they find it. I've also found that holes
plugged around corn dryer wiring with a product called duxseal used for
plugging electrical conduits keeps mice out. They don't seem to like the
sticky residue it leaves on their teeth so they quit chewing. They do
leave marks but quit.
