 The only genset I own is at

price on a Honda. There are a number of vendors on the Web, however. If you
must have a genset, the Hondas are hard to beat. They have a very good
reputation for reliability and are very quiet, some extraordinarly so. The
cost is much higher than those #$%@! noisy hardware store Generac, et. al.
gensets.

My buddy mentioned that when he was camping last w/e, there were quite a few
folks who had generators. Although they were fairly considerate as to time
of operation, mostly running them for morning coffee and again at
Suppertime, the biggest drawback was the fumes. Seems as though the Bob
Evans Down On The Farm Days has the camping area in a large field that's
sort of in a valley, with no wind to carry off the stink.

I still have the Red Dodge, but am now using a Green Dodge Diesel, also a
1994. It does have a LOT more miles on it than the red one (110,000 vs.
55,000), but seems to run well. I've been BOM'ing it, as the Dodge Diesel
cultists call it (Better Off Modified), and servicing it. Tomorrow, it gets
a pair of NAPA Optima batteries; the old ones will go on the sawmill engine.
Next week, it goes to the Cummins place in Toledo for a valve adjustment.
Lastly, it'll get the fuel filter relocated for easier service, and an oil
change. The latter will incorporate a valve to replace the drain plug, so no
more wrenchs needed. That's a Good Thing, as I can never remember what size
a particular vehicle requires.
