Also, a tarp against the skin will tend to promote moisture corrosion and
mildew. If you had some kind of frame to hold the tarp (and possible
snow/rain load) away from the trailer, you would do pretty good.
Generally speaking, letting the trailer sit in the open is better than under
a sap-dripping tree. The aluminum is not as UV sensitive as the fiberglas
trailers although the clear coat needs maintenance treatment at least
annually.
