[A/S] Loose door hinge on 1998 34' Limited
We just returned from a 3000 mile trip up through the New England
states to enjoy the fall colors in the area. The trip was wonderful,
but while setting at a campground outside Boston, we were having
trouble getting the door to close easly. I noticed the upper hing was
loose allowing the door to sage and needed to lift up on the edge of
the door in order to get it to close properly. I tried to tighten the
two screws, but found one to be loose and would not tighten. I first
thought it was stripped, but found it would pull out part way then
stop, and the threads looked good on the part that was exposed when
pulled out. No amount of working with the screw, or bolt would get it
to pull up tight. I have removed the molding on the inside only to
find no access without making a hole in the inside skin.
The questions to the list are: Does anyone know if this is a stripped
out screw, or a bolt/nut combo that has come loose, and is there a
trick to getting it tight again without making holes in the inside
skin.
