[A/S] Weekend trip
I finally got a chance to use my old Humphreys propane lamp this past weekend.
It was really bright! Much brigter than all my regular lights. I am thinking
of installing another on the aft bulkhead next year!
One thing...I have an old spring shut off valve for it, in fact, all my shutoff
valves are the spring type, which are no good, or if not illegal, not endorsed
anymore. It leaked a little, and got worse when I tried to tighten the spring!
Today, I replaced the propane valve with a new ball valve! (I bought it anyway,
replace it tonight)
I also bought a new valve for my Suburban furnace, although, this is the least
of my problems with this darn furnace. Now, I can't even get it to kick on.
I have no spark at the thermostat? Are these special thermostats...for 12 volt?
I have to start at the beginning with this thing because nothing seems to work.
Where should I start my troubleshooting> At the Thermostat? Then, I guess
I'll try and find the air leak into the combustion chamber.
It was mighty cold this past weekend. My gal and I started the weekend in the
Hudson Valley of NY, and went north to central Vermont, went across the Green
Mountain National Forest, and back south to Connecticut over the Colombus weekend!
26 degrees Monday morning at the State campground!
I know now, I can't go out unless I fix this furnace, which is top priority
now.
When I got back to my storage spot on Monday evening. I removed the intake
line to the water pump. and pumped in 11 gallons of -50 anti freeze!! All the
lines are full! <g> Then I drained it all back into the bottles! Total cost
23 dollars. Well worth it.
If I go out to the WDCU/VAC Harpers Ferry Rally in November(if I fix the furnace
in time) I will flush it out, and redo it when I get home. It's pretty easy
this way!
