My '68 manual gives some signal wiring diagram, but more of a short
suggestion than detailed. And it gives a different set of connections on
the 7 pin connector than are used these days.
My '68 Caravel's LP pipe is outside. Makes sense, since LP tends to
settle in low places. If the pipe is outside underneath, then it doesn't
settle in the hull. The piping diagram in the manual shows the main run
down low.
The old propane regulator is dangerous, likely to leak high pressure
propane through a broken diaphragm. It should be removed, destroyed, and
replaced for safety. The modern automatic switching regulators do the
same job. See your propane or RV parts dealer for one. The tanks often
need to be recertified and supplied with new valves that prevent
overfilling. These new valves will also have internal and external
threads required for some filling stations.
