I just found out about it yesterday morning.  Gosh renters don't own land do 
they?  What about people in nursing homes? What about college students at 
home with their parents?

I always thought being an American over 18 gave you the right to vote.... 

My guess, knowing nothing about it, is that the local politicos are worried 
that we will vote a straight ticket and their candidate doesn't look like a 
good bet to become president so they fear they will lose too.
