Re: [A/S] Tranny lock-up kit and exhaust brake

Spencer,
The torque lock converter comes with the BD exhaust brake, along with a Swiss Army knife.  Here is what BD has to say.

"Currently, exhaust brake usage can cause high temperatures in the automatic transmission due to torque convertor slippage.  And, only 10% to 80% of the retarding force is transferred through the fluid coupling of most torque convertors.
The BD TorqLoc commands the lock-up clutch of the torque convertor to stay engaged when the BD Exhaust Brake is activated.  This allows up to 100% of the retarding force to be transferred in 3rd and 4th gear, and, transmission oil temperatures to remain low because of little to no slippage occurring in the convertor in these selected gears."

Wait until your Power Stroke Registry arrives.  Actually, they suggest in one of the earlier articles that you might have the Pyrometer and Boost gauges installed before you have the chip installed, or otherwise trick out your truck.  This way you get a look at what is normal for these gauges before any of the add-ons are in place.  If you are thinking of a transmission gauge also, there are three gauge A-pillar mounts available.

The other item you need to consider is a K & N air filter.
