[A/S] Tranny lock-up kit and exhaust brake

Wednesday, September 13, 2000

Tom - a ways back you spoke of the "lock-up kit" I really don't know what it
is and why it's important.  I think I did get the point about exhaust brakes
may cause problems if installed too close to the engine, seemed to be a big
concern with bad implications.

To get these 2 things done correctly where should I look to getting the
equipment and where (who) should I seek out to get them properly installed.

I just in the info stage - I'm not going to run out and do all this without
thinking it over very carefully - for at least 10 minutes.  <grin>

So, at this point, the items I might (or my still undelivered Excursion)
benefit from are:

lock-up kit installed with an exhaust brake
trany temp gauge
Exhaust temp gauge
2 1/2 ton floor jack
a Swiss army knife <only kidding - wouldn't go without one>

Anything else worthwhile???

Thanks - Spencer
