Dick,
I agree with you,......how can one air conditioning unit produce less
condensate than another??   Well, ..... I searched for some technical
info on the new Carrier Air Conditioning units for RV's.  It appears the
new technology uses the condensate to help "cool" the condensor coils,
and in the process, most of the condensate is evaporated and expelled as
hot air.  That is the claim by Carrier anyway.  They do have a web site,
which you should read.  Your search engine is much better than mine.  I
don't have the url handy.   I don't know if using the condensate to help
cool the coils uses all of the water, but ,.....it makes
sense............like recycling.   Getting rid of the condensate
eliminates one big problem of that drain pan, and the hose, and putting
the hose thru cabinets and your coach, and drilling a hole in the floor
to then let the condensate drip on the ground beneath your coach.   Here
in the "humid" South,  A Coleman roof top A/C unit without a drain pan,
produces a steady trickle of water that snakes its way across the top of
your coach until it finds the easy path to the ground.   The Carrier
might be good, but I don't like its "looks".  The new shroud is kinda
boxey.  I still like the low-profile, Dometic, Penguin.
