With the inverter running from the battery, supplying the AC cord and
the univolt running from the AC cord, charging the battery, you have a
potential perpetual motion machine, but in this real world all that
happens is that the battery runs down. There are chargers that treat the
battery better than the univolt (Statpower) and there are boxes that
charge the battery when AC is available from outside sources and invert
when that external AC isn't present. The combination of inverter and
univolt or any other battery charger requires you manually switch off
the univolt or charger when running from the inverter...
