I can't comment on the relative merits of flexible vs. rigid panels, but if
you're going to mold them to the curve of your roof, don't just fasten them
directly to the roof. You should plan on keeping them raised about two
inches above the surface. All PV panels are less efficient when heated, so
they need room for air to circulate and keep them cool.
With the panels 2 inches off the roof, (assuming you take my advice), you
might not find much difference in the appearance of rigid vs. curved ones.
I put a rigid 80-watt panel on the roof my Avion, to one side, and it's not
very noticeable at all. It would be about invisible if I had centered it,
right to left. I think I could easily put four rigid 75-85 watt panels up
there without changing the look of the trailer very much.
