Hi Keith....

One thing to look for... in the early 70s models...with rear bathrooms...be 
sure the trailer doesn't suffer from "rear end sag"  It started in 1973 and 
was a problem for a few years.

No problem.... an Airstream that has been taken care of will last forever.

No, just look in classifieds and you will get an idea what different years 
are selling for.... My guess would be between $5,000-$10,000 for the age you 
are looking at.

You want to make sure all the systems work.... fridge, stove, water heater, 
a/c  or negotiate down if they don't.  Fridges that run on gas/electric can 
run around $1,000... a big ticket item.

Check the water system.... it's possible that the trailer wasn't winterized 
and pipes have frozen and burst.

You can find older trailers in mint condition.... Cindy and Carl on this list 
found one that lived in a barn untouched for most of its life... it's like 
brand new.  Then you can find ones that are trashed and have the fun of 
redoing it.  You just have to start looking.  I do see them a lot in RV 
dealer lots... frequently hidden in the back somewhere.  

People now want the square white SOBs with slide outs.... some people, not 
those with discriminating taste of course (c:
