Re: [A/S] mid fities airstream

If you want to stay in the same class as your '55 Chevy I suggest you
look at the '55,'56',57 Airstream, 16ft Bubble models.  They weigh around
2000 lbs and your Chevy should be able to be adapted to pull that much
weight. You can look at my web site,
www.zianet.com/rlashway and see my '56 which I completed this summer.  Of
course the interior is not original  but haven't changed the outside much
except the rear spare tire and of course vents for frig., air
conditioner, and water heater.  Before you put on a hitch for your pop up
better investigate size needed for a heavier trailer  you might
ultimately acquire so you won't have to put on a new hitch system if you
get your airstream.  Also you should investigate what other changes you
might have to make on the auto to make it capable for towing.  Such as
power of engine, transmission cooler, auxiliary
radiator,alternator/generator capacity, rear suspension system,  and
towing mirrors.
