Folks -

Canada wins the town names sweepstakes hands down.  I passed through
Moose Jaw, and am now in Swift Current and will pass through Medicine
Hat tomorrow.  There is a Rat Portage somewhere, but I cannot find it
on my map, and then their is Yellow Knife, White Horse and so on. 
Compare Hartford to those names; or New York.  Our northern neighbors
have beaten us again.

I pulled in to Swift Current at around 5:00 PM and finished in the
office in about five minutes, and was parked, hooked up, levelled and
all the windows opened and settled with a cold one, diet Coke, by 5:30.
 Some guy in SOB has been puttering around for a half hour and still
does not have his rig set up yet.  The AS is better for quick setups. 
Better in many ways, for sure.  This particular AS leaves a bit to be
desired, but that is another story.

The trip today was more of yesterday.  Canada is a big place and its
plains really stretch out.  Starting on the eastern edge of Manitoba
all the way across Saskatchewan and I guess about halfway across
Alberta.  I don't think it stays flat too much west of Calgary.  From
there on I will be climbing through the Banff - Lake Louise area which
you must have all heard or read about.  I will try to take some
pictures and post one or two.  Until I learn how to post them on my AOL
web site this will be all I can show you.

From Calgary I hope to make it to Kalso, BC, to visit some nice folks I
met in Mexico.  From Kaslo to Abbottsford, BC for some work on the
truck to make it healthy and strong for the descent to Mexico and able
to pull the Silver Salami and the dogs and I down and back. 
Abbottsford has some of the best diesel and tranny wizards around at
BD/Valley Fuel Injection.  They build the BD engine brake which Hunter
and I have come to love.  They also build beef up and hop up goodies
for diesels, some of which I have bought and had installed.  They all
work as promised and have for a year or more.  Any interest in this I
can handle offline as it is pretty much non-AS. 

It does not get too hot here on the plains until late in the afternoon,
around three.  It climbed up to 93F (33C) which is pretty warm in any
country.  But, it cools pretty quickly when the sun starts to set which
is what it is starting to do now.

I wish that I could write all sorts of interesting and exciting stuff
about today's travels.  I can't.
