John,

One of the first things I would get for your trailer is a smoke 
detector.  When I bought my 1990 last year it already had one.  I 
added a CO2 detector.  I don't use any type of security system.  
Really don't feel the need for one at this time.  I would also check 
your propane gas detector.  I found the previous owner of mine cut 
the wires to disconnect.  Can't imagine why.  I have heard others say 
they found the same thing in theirs.
