[a/s] Campground Clubs

Listees,

I have often thought about joining one of these campground clubs where you
can camp at a "discounted" rate.

I also am interested in joining one that might have resort-type atmospheres.
Could it be the same one?  Do I have to join more than one to get all the
benefits I want?

I know there are lots of them out there and there are some restrictions, but
frankly I am a little mixed up and can't get all the info straight so that I
know exactly what is allowed with which club and how much "exactly" it is
going to cost me.

A friend of mine bought into one nearby where we live in eastern
Massachusetts....now he is limited to his camping in and around New England
because of his type of membership.

    Another person told me to buy one as far from home as possible and make
sure its     a place I'll never visit more than 2 weeks a year.

    Someone else mentioned to buy one via an 800 toll free number in the
middle of no     where, so you can use all those listed with their
organization anytime.  Doesn't             sound like I would like to deal
with something or someone without a solid                 affiliation and
someone you can't see.

I compare it to the cellular phone deals where there are so many packages
and deals that you don't know if you are getting the short end of the stick
or not.

Are there sure-fire, clear-cut answers to how these membership camping clubs
work?

What are the names and website URLs of some of these organizations that run
these campground clubs?
