RE: [a/s] First Time Buyer

A couple of years ago I bought a '74 31' Sovereign with center bath 
and full-timed in it till I got married... then I towed it to my new 
wife's home. That revealed that someone had apparently overloaded the 
bedroom (in the rear) and had BROKEN the road-side main spar of the 
frame. It still towed beautifully, up hills and down, through parking 
lots and city streets... the only incident was when I first left the 
trailer park and nearly tore the rear bumper off when it dragged as 
the wheels went across the gutter.

I had the frame welded when I got it home, but the experience tore at 
my heart. Now I'm afraid to buy a trailer; I'm designing a new style 
of expandable, towable living space; hopefully I'll be able to 
convince my wife someday that living in a trailer isn't so bad! She 
really only objects to sharing such a small space with our three 
dogs, six cats and five birds. :)
