Well, I just talked to NTB where I bought the Firestones and they will give me
my full purchase price credit against the cost of a set of Michelins. Apparently
Ford does not recommend LT tires for this vehicle. I would prefer to have the
LTs, but it seems there have been problems with the Explorer and its handling
with the stiffer sidewalls. Does anyone know if the LT tire would really make a
difference, either in the towing characteristics or handling risk when not
towing?
