Re: [a/s] 2WD vs. 4WD

Al,
To me, a 2WD is a "half a truck". My Dodge is the first 2WD truck that
I've owned in nearly 30 years. Others have noted the disadvantages of
4WD, and I'll admit that I've only wanted/needed 4WD once in the year
I've had the Dodge. And that was while running across the field out
back, not towing my trailer.

A Diesel truck won't save you money until you pass 100,000 miles,
especially if you pay others to change your oil, etc. They only make
economic sense for those who tow a lot of miles.

But, I sure love Diesels. My VW Jetta has 255,000 miles on it now; I
elected to keep it after getting rid of 2 previous VW Diesels at a bit
under 200,000 miles and saw how far the new owner ran 'em. Decided that
there's no sense getting rid of a car that had that much good left in
it. :-)
