[a/s] Crunched trailer
Hi Gang,
Ok, I'm an idiot. Last evening we took the trailer out for a test run
before leaving for Rocky Mountain National Park this Sunday. I had just
had the hitch head rewelded at 19 1/2 inches, as recommended in the
manual, and wanted to see how the trailer pulled. Over the last couple
of weeks we had also done work on the trailer, new marker lights,
putting our numbers on, etc.... I also had repacked the bearings and
looked over the brakes while I had things apart.
Ok, here's the idiot part. I forgot to tighten the lugs on a rear wheel
after setting the trailer down. It came off and crunched the trailer.
The area under the trailer, behind the wheel well straight back to the
bumper is crunched up to the plywood floor. The plywood floor is lifted
off the frame rail about one inch starting at the wheel well and tapers
down to not being off the rail about two feet back. Starting at the
wheel well and going back to the rear corner of the trailer, below the
mid line belt, the side is some what bulged out.
Does anyone know where I may be able to get this fixed? Factory,
dealer, repair shop?
You may be able to imagine how sick I am. This was to be our first trip
out besides bringing it home last February. The family vacation is now
off and I have to get this thing fixed.
Thank you for your help,
Eric Johnson
