They might still use it on those same trailers is what they mean.  But, as 
you know our trailers are wide bodies, so obviously they don't use the same 
rock guards as the pre-1996 trailers.... wider trailer - different guard. (c:

I know that George Tripp bought a new one in Sarasota, his trailer is a 
mid/late 70s model and he got a single shield (guard) not a 3 piece.
