Chris,
 It's unlikely that the bigger converter would be necessary, ever. Add
up your loads that are likely to be on at one time and you'll see.

If you camp w/o electricity at all, you'll learn to turn lights off when
they're not in use or suffer the consequences (dead battery). Once in
the habit, you'll probably not turn on every light in the trailer even
if you do have power available.
