[a/s] suicide doors

I think that this topic came up some time ago. I assume that the doors open
as they do for two reasons: first, people are presumably approaching the
coach from the front (vehicle; second, the "door window" would be endangered
if the door opened the other way, and the structure would not be as strong
for the hinges.
