I had a 61 Safari and now have a 65 Safari, the 61 didn't have the clearcoat 
and the 65 does, so I know the change came somewhere in between.  For me, it 
was easy to tell, the clearcoated one is covered with a white foggy finish on 
the top down to mid cabin on the sides.  My older one had a dull grey patina 
that didn't need stripping, how I wish they'd never clearcoated them, what an 
arduous process for those of us now trying to buff 'em up.

I'm waiting til the weather cools off to do mine, I'd burn myself on that hot 
metal down here in the Louisiana sun.
