RE: [a/s] Exhaust brakes and mountains



Hi Hunter:
The higher the RPM, the greater the braking force. Therefore, in OD at 40
mph, your RPM is lower than out of OD at 30 mph, so the braking at 30 is
greater. (However, if the torque converter is NOT locked up, the braking
would be less.) The exhaust braking works on the speed of the engine, not
the speed of the truck. Does all of that make sense?
