I was really impressed with the building of the Airstream trailer! Really 
impressed, can you believe that? I bought the Airstream because in the 70's I 
worked at a trailer repair business here in Orlando. During that time I had 
the task of salvaging an International. It had been rolled and totaled on the 
Turnpike. We bought it and I was assigned to strip it for parts and to ready 
the aluminum for scrap. What a job! They are really built, I thought. Since 
then, I couldn't afford a "good trailer" and bought a Coachman and Prowler. 
We loved them, but-1 they weren't Airstreams, and 2- they leaked and the wood 
rotted in the roof and floor. When I retired, I bought a used '88 25' Excalla 
and loved it. It was all we needed. We pulled it 10,000 + miles and went out 
West. We even lived in it for 9 months in Winter Garden while our house was 
being built. Last year, my wife "got the itch" and needed a new trailer. 
(Actually she wanted, and still does, a Class A motor home.) I feel it does 
not meet our lifestyle though. Anyhow, we bought the '99 Excalla because I 
wanted quality, no problems, and no leaks rotting floors and roofs! When we 
got it, and had all of the problems, I wanted to see just how they were built 
and what was done wrong to give me so many problems. When I got to see them 
built, I really can't understand why I had the problems. They seem to be 
doing a good job!! The poor water pressure is because they should have used 
3/4" pipe not 1/2" between the inlet and the shower. But if they did that, 
then boondockers would waste too much water waiting for hot water in the 
shower. The other problems were simply shoddy workmanship. It is as simple as 
that. All in all, the trailer is built well. Quality control lacks, but the 
intent is there to build a good coach. The water leak test they put each 
trailer through is unbelievable! 
As for the prostate screening that someone mentioned that Thor is sponsoring, 
 just another reason to watch your back and not to bend over at the factory. 
They already "got me" when I bought their trailer I don't want it again. (LOL)
Take the tour, you will enjoy it. Let me know what you thought of it. I will 
be waiting. Also, take a lot of pictures of the coach at different stages, It 
will help to identify what is behind the walls and under the floor.
